Message from the Minister

Hello there! I’m Arthur Christie and I’m the old guy looking after the church while we look for a permanent minister.

I’m delighted you are looking us up and, as a newly formed church, we are excited at the prospect of creating a new identity, which we hope will connect with our community and town. However, the message remains the same, and it’s all about relationships, ie relationships with each other, and, the key, a personal relationship with Jesus, who said, “love your neighbour as yourself”, and that’s a work in progress for us all. We’re all flawed, but loved by God.
If you are interested in where we are at and how we are searching for a new minister, please read our Parish Profile. It’s really a kind of job description but focuses on who we are and what we’re doing and hope to do.

We do lots of different activities and reach out to our communities in different ways. Right now, we are undertaking a community audit to try to find out how best we might serve our community. We are everyday people, trying to build everyday faith that makes a difference to our everyday living. Contrary to popular misconceptions of church, we do have fun and laughter on our journey through life together, learning, growing, laughing, crying. Together, St Columba’s Church family is ready to welcome anyone.

Wherever you are, whatever is happening in your life, know this, “you are loved by God and His Son Jesus is always available to journey with you” and we are too.
