What does Remembrance mean to you?
Why do we wear a poppy?

Why is it important that we never forget?
The poppy is a powerful symbol of remembrance. Following the First World War, poppies became a symbol of those who lost their lives and sacrificed so much for the freedom and peace we have today.
When we see a poppy, we remember the fallen, the families affected by war and all those who have served to protect others.
Inspired by Deuteronomy 6:5–7, we are reminded of the importance of keeping what matters in our hearts and passing these values on to future generations.
Remembrance is not just about looking back; it is about learning from the past, valuing peace and striving for a world filled with kindness, love and understanding.
We remember with gratitude. We honour with respect. We pray and hope for peace.
