Message from the Minister

November ….

As we head into the season of Advent, I’m mindful of the many activities and events taking place within our congregation. The Remembrance service, as always, stands at the heart of November. It offers us an important opportunity to honour and give thanks for the sacrifice of so many, and to reflect on the cost of peace and freedom in our world today.

Once the Remembrance service has taken place, our focus quickly turns toward Christmas. It seems that the shops are already in the festive mood—though often for very different reasons. My prayer is that, amid all the busyness, everyone will find time to pause and reflect on what it truly means to prepare for the celebration of Jesus’ birth.
Advent is a season of waiting, watching, and hoping. It reminds us that God is faithful to His promises and that His light shines in the darkness. As we prepare our homes and hearts for Christmas, may we hear again the words of the prophet Isaiah:
“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” (Isaiah 9:2)

May this Advent season bring you moments of quiet reflection, renewed faith, and joyful anticipation as we look forward to celebrating the coming of Christ—the Light of the World.
